N. California’s Largest Casino May Get Larger

Graton Resort & Casino, already one of the biggest in the state, is thinking about an expansion. The number of hotel rooms could be double, according to a tribal official.

The 0 million Graton Resort & Casino, considered by many the largest casino in Northern California, is contemplating an expansion that would double the size of its hotel in Rohnert Park.

That would make its hotel the largest in Sonoma County, in the midst of California’s wine country.

At a recent San Francisco appearance Greg Sarris, chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria said the resort was in the midst of an environmental review for 200 more hotel rooms. The first 200 rooms opened last November, part of a $175 million expansion, but are already nearly overbooked.

No definite plan has been decided yet, says the resort general manager, Joe Hasson.
