The law prevents the New Hampshire lottery commission from withholding the name of the winner of a $559.7 million Powerball jackpot, despite the winner’s plea to remain anonymous.
The winner, currently known as Jane Doe, went to a Nashua court to try to keep her name withheld. She made a mistake when she signed the ticket after the winning drawing January 6 by not signing the name of a trust, which is the only legal way in the state to do so.
