Cambodian casino operator NagaCorp has reopened its full gaming operations including mass market, VIP and slot services.
The company had applied to the Ministry of Health under government regulations, and according to the release the ministry responded on Saturday giving the go-ahead. VIP and slots had been approved for reopening as of July 8, but mass market approval had been pending, according to the Cambodian Daily.
Safety measures on the casino floor include body-temperature screening, mandatory mask-wearing, disinfection of public areas, social distancing at restaurants and in gaming areas, and the set-up of five isolation rooms.
Hong Kong-listed NagaCorp operates the NagaWorld gaming complex (in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, under a long-life monopoly.
NagaCorp Chairman Tim McNally told GGRAsia the reopening of the VIP and slot-machine businesses generated a “very positive public response”.
All casinos in Cambodia were ordered to shut down on April 1 to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
