NagaCorp to Open Next Year in Russia

Hong Kong-listed NagaCorp is on track to open its new Primorye integrated resort in 2018, according to reports. The Mayak (l.) will be the second integrated resort in the zone after Summit Ascent’s Tigre de Cristal.

Full build-out by 2021

Hong Kong-listed casino operator NagaCorp is set to open the second integrated resort in Russia’s Primorye casino zone sometime in 2018. The first integrated resort, Summit Ascent Holdings’ Tigre de Cristal, debuted in October 2015.

Andrei Folomeev, director of the Primorsky Region’s Development Corp. told local media the company “embarked on the construction a year ago, however, ancient graves were discovered at that plot and had to be carefully extracted, processed and transferred to storage.

“Naturally, this affected the timing, but in 2018, the complex will open,” said the director.

According to the Asia Gaming Brief, last year NagaCorp Chairman Tim McNally said the Mayak project includes a casino with 300 slot machines and 30 gaming tables; an 11-story, 279-room hotel complex; a 2,000-seat concert hall; and a water park.

The total investment is expected to reach $350 million and be complete by 2021.
