Navajo Chapter President Charged With Stealing Millions

The president of the Ramah Navajo Chapter has been arrested and charged with stealing $6 million dollars. David Jose is accused of investing funds without proper authorization.

David Jose, president of the Ramah Navajo Chapter has been charged with three counts of stealing $6 million in chapter funds by the Navajo Nation Office of the Prosecutor.

He is charged with investing the funds without proper authorization. One of the investment companies filed for bankruptcy several months after he transferred $1 million to it. He was arraigned August 6 and pled not guilty to all the charges.

The Navajo Nation Department of Justice says it will seek to recover that money.
