Nektan Licensed for Online Gambling in Ireland

Nektan has announced that it has been licensed for online gambling in Ireland making it one the first operators to be granted a remote betting intermediary license for the Irish market under the country’s new online gambling regulations.

Nektan has been granted one of the first remote gambling licenses for online gambling in Ireland under new regulations there.

Ireland’s new gaming regulations went into effect this month.

“We are pleased that Nektan is among the very first operators to have gained approval for a gaming license in Ireland” said Nektan CEO David Gosen. “This builds on the company’s momentum within the Irish market in recent months, having welcomed Independent News & Media and TV3 as new live partners onto our gaming network. We will continue to seek further opportunities in Ireland as part of our ongoing growth strategy.”

Ireland’s Betting Act 2015 updates and extends the country’s regulations for bookmaker’s licenses to include online gambling sites. All remote bookmakers and remote betting intermediaries providing betting services to customers in Ireland are now required to hold a license.
