U.K.-based Net Entertainment (NetEnt) has been issued a license to enter Spain’s regulated internet gaming market, after new rules have opened the Spanish iGaming business.
Online slots had not been permitted to be legally played in Spain until recently, when the Spanish government created two license categories for operators, opening a new round of licensing. A general license will provide wide coverage, as operators can host all games. However, there now also is a slot-specific license.
“We are currently looking into the application process for Spain,” said NetEnt CEO Per Erikson, noting that NetEnt currently has no traffic from the Spanish market, which is something that the developer wishes to change.
NetEnt will deliver games such as the Reels of Chaos slot, as well as Aliens, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Scarface. Original slot creations include the Jack Hammer series and Gonzo’s Quest.
