Nevada Gaming Control Names Head Auditor

A UNLV graduate and longtime Nevada Gaming Control Board accountant Kelly Colvin replaces Shirley Springer as chief of the board’s audit division, Gaming Control Chairman A.G. Burnett announced. Colvin has been a CPA since 1994, joined the Gaming Control Board 26 years ago, and will help modernize the unit. Springer retired in February.

University of Nevada-Las Vegas graduate Kelly Colvin will put his decades of experience with the Nevada Gaming Control Board to good use as its new audit division chief.

Colvin, a certified public accountant since 1994, obtained an accounting degree from UNLV, and joined the Gaming Control Board 26 years ago.

“Kelly will modernize the division, streamline the audit process, and provide leadership within the division by working closely with the board’s other five division chiefs,” Gaming Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett said in a statement when announcing Colvin’s appointment.

He replaces Shirley Springer as chief of the board’s audit division. Spring retired last month.

The Gaming Control Board’s Audit Division is charged with overseeing casino audits and reviewing state revenues and taxes arising from the casino gaming industry.
