MGM Resorts International Executive Vice President of Global Industry Affairs Alan Feldman recently was elected chairman of the Nevada State Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. The committee supports effective problem gambling prevention, education, treatment and research programs throughout the state.
Feldman, who oversees MGM’s planning and implementation of policy development on industry issues and programs with a focus on responsible gambling, serves as chairman of the National Center for Responsible Gaming. He recently directed the launch of GameSense, an MGM program that encourages players to adopt behaviors and attitudes to help lower the risk of developing gambling disorders. Available at all MGM Resorts U.S. properties, GameSense has resulted in more than 750,000 positive responsible gambling conversations with guests and has been recognized by the National Council on Problem Gambling.
As ACPG chairman, Feldman will help the group support effective problem gambling prevention, education, treatment and research programs throughout the state. “I am proud to serve as a representative of the state’s gaming industry, which shares the same goals for education, prevention, treatment and research on responsible gambling. I look forward to working with the ACPG on establishing a comprehensive program to achieve these goals across the state.”
Feldman is a longtime member of the Advisory Board of the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling. In 2017, he was appointed by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to serve on the state’s Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling. Feldman also is a frequent speaker on responsible gambling at conferences, universities and media events across North America and Asia.
