A US$2.7 million hotel and casino has opened in the city of Charata in Chaco Province, Argentina. Casino Platinum is operated by the firm Casinos del Chaco, a unit of Casinos del Litoral.

Casinos del Litoral’s investment plans include two hotels: one in Charata and one in the city Villa Ángela, in addition to gaming rooms in several locations in the province.

Governor Domingo Peppo spoke at the grand opening and said the property is a welcome addition to the region, especially as Argentina’s economic crisis deepens.

“This will continue to give Charata prominence, which already has hotels of a high standard and it is also a generator of employment . . . at a difficult time in the country,” said Peppo.

The 40-room hotel features a spa, gym, pool and a 180-person capacity conference center.
