The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe has confirmed its plans for a new casino on a 12-acre site near Prescott Arizona.
The site will offer 50,000 square feet of casino space and up to 80 hotel rooms.
“At this point, we don’t know what we’ll call it or what the design will look like,” Tribal General Manager Rich Marcum told Indian Country Today Media Network. “We’re planning a strategic focus group for tribal member input and we have the summer to determine those details.”
Marcum said an architectural plan should be in place by June and that the tribe feels the time to build is now.
Prescott already has two casinos—Bucky’s Casino and Yavapai Casino. The tribe’s new casino would be located along the area’s main highway, Arizona 69, at the intersection of the Yavpe Connector.
