New Director of Indian Business Development at Innovation Capital

Investment banking and tribal government veteran Ben Martinez of the Mescalero Apache Tribe has joined Innovation Capital as Director of Native American Business Development. Formerly an executive with Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino Resort, he will use that experience to try to attract Native American business to the firm.

Ben Martinez has joined Innovation Capital as Director of Native American Business Development.

Martinez comes to the job from tribal council of New Mexico’s Mescalero Apache Tribe. He has background in investment banking and finance plus having served as a leader of the Mescalero tribe and its Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino Resort.

Before working for the tribe, he was assistant vice president at Generational Equity (formerly GW Equity) based in Dallas, a firm that specializes in mergers, acquisitions, financing and valuations.

For the last seven years, he was a tribal administrator and a member of the council of the Mescalero tribe. He became chief financial officer for the Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino Resort in 2009.
