New Era for AGE

The Australasian Gaming Expo, the world’s third-largest gaming industry trade show, is set for its new venue, the ICC Sydney Darling Harbour center, August 15-17.

The producers of the Australasian Gaming Expo, to be staged August 15-17 at its new venue ICC Sydney Darling Harbour in Australia, are lauding a “new era” for the event.

“We’re excited about the new location and by the fact that AGE is the world’s third largest gaming industry trade show,” organizers said, according to Yogonet.com. At 19,000 square meters of floor space, it is one of the largest trade events in Australia and among the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It attracts participation from around the world.

The show is owned and operated by the Gaming Technologies Association. GTA’s primary members are suppliers Ainsworth, Aristocrat, Aruze, Ebet, IGT, Interblock, Konami and Scientific Games.

With 250 exhibitors (including over 50 first-time participants), AGE displays technology from across the gaming and hospitality spectrum.

Last year 2,527 visitors attended the first day, with 2,911 on the second day and 1,359 on the third day. They came from every Australian state and territory, along with a big contingent from New Zealand and international guests from America, Europe and around the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Yogonet, 92 percent of visitors surveyed last year saw the expo as an opportunity to see new products and technology, while 96 percent said the exhibition stand quality was good or excellent and 96 percent said the event itself was satisfactory or excellent.

Visitors who attend the Australasian Gaming Expo are eligible to win a trip for two to the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, including airfares from Sydney and five nights at a Vegas resort. One trip for two will be drawn on each day of the AGE.

The AGE17 app is available for download at the Apple Store, or via the event website. The producers will be running complimentary seminars for all visitors over the first two days of the Expo.

For the first time the Expo will feature the “AGE Daily” newspaper, covering both event and industry news, which will be free to all registered visitors and will be available online. All visitors will be able to take away information in “digital show bags” by tapping their entry badge at their preferred exhibitors’ stands.
