On the exotic Spanish island of Ibiza, work is progressing on the Ibiza Gran Hotel’s new casino expansion, expected to be completed in April 2015. Plans call for moving the current main casino building to a newly constructed space that will be linked by a corridor to the hotel. The project also includes a new slots area, restaurant and high-tech performance space.
Expected to attract 1,000 visitors daily, the new casino is collaboration between the hotel and casino owners, restaurateurs and brothers Albert and Ferran Adrià, and Ibiza resident and Cirque du Soleil owner Guy Laliberté.
The Ibiza Gran Hotel offers stunning views of the World Heritage sites of Dalt Vila and Ibiza Cathedral, and features modern design and artwork, a fine-dining restaurant and a high-end spa. The original casino offered a wide range of games including blackjack, American roulette, punto banco and variety of poker games offered in the main casino and private gaming rooms.
