New Jersey’s Lesniak Says Something Big Is Coming

New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak (l.), one of the principal players in the state’s efforts to reinvent its gambling industry, says a “major announcement” on gambling is coming. The news seems to involve the arrival of online giant PokerStars in the state’s online gambling market.

New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak says a major announcement on the state’s gambling industry will be made in the coming weeks.

Lesniak tweeted “@PokerStars launch will spark an AC revival. Stay tuned for a major announcement…”

PokerStars is expected to be issued a conditional licenses to begin operating in the state in October. The online giant has partnered with Resorts casino in Atlantic City and in the past had planned a major investment in the casino.

Lesniak hinted that the launch will be “bigger than anyone imagined.”

But Lesniak also teased that the announcement could involve New Jersey online sites sharing player pools with other state’s or even international players. When asked directly about player pools Lesniak tweeted “Soon Stay tuned for that also.”

Lesniak said the announcement will come in “weeks, not months,”
