New Nightclub Planned for Tropicana Atlantic City

Nightclub developer Ivan Kane—who scored a success with the Royal Jelly Burlesque nightclub at the closed Revel casino in Atlantic City, as well as clubs in Las Vegas casinos—has announced a new club to open at Tropicana Atlantic City. Kane is known for unconventional themes, which will be on display at the new Kiss Kiss a Go-Go (l.).

Amid all the disappointments in Atlantic City’s casino industry, the success of the city’s casino nightclubs is often overlooked.

And Tropicana Atlantic City has enlisted nightclub developer Ivan Kane to keep that ball rolling as Kane has announced a new non-traditional nightclub for the casino.

Kane—who previously ran the Royal Jelly Burlesque Nightclub at the closed Revel casino in the city—will open Kiss Kiss a Go-Go at Tropicana which he describes as “a trip down the rabbit hole into the neon-fueled nights of Bangkok.”

“Tropicana asked me what I wanted to do, and they said they wanted an Ivan Kane-type project,” Kane told the Press of Atlantic City. “I assured them everything I do is outside of the box of traditional nightlife. I am always looking to reinvent nightlife as an art form like I reinvented burlesque. I paint a pretty broad stroke, and they said, ‘Go for it.’ And here we are.”

The club will be located on the second floor of Tropicana’s The Quarter in the former Comedy Stop location.

“Atlantic City needs to constantly reinvent itself to show we are viable, unique and special, and I believe we are,” Kane told the paper. “I want to complement everything at the Tropicana: Planet Rose, Anthem, Providence are all on the same floor. We are a reason to come and gamble and party… one more amenity. It will be like a giant block party up there. But most importantly, we are a destination. I am creating something that people will travel to Tropicana from New York and Philadelphia, as well as locals. We are going to drive new business.”

Kane has previously developed the Forth Deuce Burlesque Nightclub in Las Vegas and Hollywood that spawned a four-part reality TV series on Bravo. Kane’s nightclub at Revel could also re-open if the property is re-opened by owner Glen Straub.

In another move for the casino, Tropicana announced poker players can get up-to-the-minute information on live play, waiting lists, tournaments and promotions at Trop Poker Club, by downloading the free BRAVO Poker Live app (BravoPokerLive) on their mobile phones or tablets.

BRAVO Poker Live uses the Bravo poker room management and player tracking system. Players can use the search function to find the nearest poker room playing their favorite live game or tournament, add their name to a waiting list and receive instant alerts when a seat is available, the casino said in a press release. .

“Tropicana is always looking for ways to offer more to our guests,” said Steve Callender, General Manager of Tropicana Atlantic City. “The Bravo Poker Live app will add more convenience to the player experience and will make our poker room even more efficient.”
