Okada Manila COO Byron Yip has been promoted to president of the casino hotel.
Yip, whose responsibilities have included Okada Manila’s casino, succeeds Takashi Oya, who also served as co-vice chairman of Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment, the Philippine-based company that operates the property as a subsidiary of Japan’s Universal Entertainment Corp.
Yip’s “remarkable business leadership has led to the phenomenal growth of Okada Manila and made it a leading integrated resort in terms of gross gaming revenue in the Philippines,” said Hajime Tokuda, who heads the overseas business division of Tokyo-listed Universal.
The resort is one of three destination-scale casinos currently operating in a special district of the Philippines capital known as Entertainment City.
Tiger also announced the election of Manuel Lazaro as chairman and the elections of Takako Okada and Antonio Cojuangco as co-vice chairs.
