New York State’s nine racinos with video lottery terminals generated a record .9 billion in net win for the fiscal year that ended in March, the Associated Press reports. The main driver of that revenue was Resorts World in Queens, New York, which saw a net win of 3 million, an increase of 14 percent over the previous fiscal year.
The year-over-year performance at the state’s other racinos was “mixed,” the AP reported.
Batavia Downs Gaming, Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack and Saratoga Casino and Raceway saw increases last year. The other racinos posted net losses year-over-year.
The fierce winter on the East Coast affected patronage at the racinos, state officials say.
