The company expects to sell as many as $100 million worth of shares in the IPO. • Officials in Hong Kong have extended Covid-19 precautions until the end of March 2022, a measure that will curtail travel to and from Macau for many months. Quarantines are mandatory for people arriving in Hong Kong until September 30. Other regulations include a ban on group gatherings and mask-wearing. ● Macau law enforcement may use the eye-in-the-sky public video surveillance systems to track the movements of people confirmed as Covid-19 cases. “We have a legal framework for the use the eye-in-the-sky system in public areas can be used to protect and maintain public order and the lives of the citizens,” said Ma Chio Hong of the Public Security Police Force. ● A number of recreation facilities in Macau reopened were permitted to reopen August 18 after 13 successive days with no new Covid-19 infections. The list included movie theaters, indoor amusement parks, beauty salons, health clubs, bars and nightclubs. ● A new group of Sands China team members are undergoing the company’s nine-month Integrated Talent Development Program in Macau. The management training initiative aims to enhance the management quality of Sands China’s employees and prepare them for future leadership roles. ● China’s new Hengqin Port has reported a total of 6 million entries and exits in its first 12 months of operation. The new Hengqin Border opened last August, replacing the old Lotus Border Checkpoint as the main gateway between the special economic zone and Macau. ● The Navajo Nation is reopening parks and businesses on a phased basis, welcoming visitors back to the community’s monuments, casinos and unique attractions. Last week, the nation entered its “orange” phase, allowing 50 percent capacity in most businesses. Mask-wearing in public continues to be mandatory. ● The main hotel casino at the Westside City Project in Manila’s Entertainment City is still expected to open in 2023, according to Philippines-listed Suntrust Home Developers. The Westside City project is 51-percent indirectly owned by Hong Kong-listed Suncity Group Holdings Ltd. Suntrust says its business has been “affected minimally” by the Covid-19 pandemic in the Philippines because its hotel and casino were still in the “preliminary construction phase.” ● The Las Vegas Raiders will now require proof of Covid-19 vaccines of anyone who wants to attend games at Allegiant Stadium this season. The Raiders are partnering with Clear, an app that helps users verify their identity and other information, including vaccinations, to confirm the status of guests entering the $2 billion stadium. ● Seneca Gaming Corp. now requires masks for everyone attending indoor shows at its resorts and casinos in New York State. The requirement applies to all guests and staff inside the Seneca Allegany Events Center regardless of vaccination status. ● California’s Tule River Tribe Gaming Authority has chosen Hill International to provide owner’s representative services for the first phase of relocating the Eagle Mountain Casino. The casino will be moved 17 miles from its original location on the Tule River Indian Reservation to the city of Porterville. The first phase also includes a new 2,000-seat event center, dining, bars and a gaming floor for 1,750 slots and 20 gaming tables. • Mohegan Sun in Connecticut saw revenues bounce back in July, generating $49.9 million in slot machine revenue. That was a 5 percent increase from July of the year before. It was also the highest revenue since August 20219.
