Caesars Entertainment has become the sixth gaming operator in New Jersey to launch a mobile sports betting application. Caesars Casino & Sports, as the platform is called, is integrated with the company’s player rewards program. Caesars also provides on-site betting at two of its three Atlantic City casinos. • The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s new CEO Steve Hill will be paid $375,000 a year under a contract that also provides for a performance-based bonus up to 40 percent. Hill, formerly the LVCVA’s chief operating officer, succeeds long-time CEO Rossi Ralenkotter, who resigned this summer following an investigation into the personal use of authority funds by himself and other LVCVA executives.   • Boyd Gaming has pledged $5 million to benefit sports at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The bulk of the multiyear donation will help create a Student-Athlete Excellence Center, with funds also earmarked for a new scoreboard at the Thomas & Mack Center for the 2018-19 men’s basketball season and renovations at Eller Media Stadium, where the men’s softball team plays. • Qualifying workers at MGM Resorts International’s Nevada casinos will be able under certain conditions to pursue a college degree online for free under a new company program recently approved by the state’s Board of Regents. The program is expected to kick off in the fall of 2019. • The Widus Hotel and Casino at Clark Freeport Zone in the Philippines opened its third hotel tower on September 14. The 15-story, 260-room Clark Marriott will be joined by fourth hotel tower in 2020. The operator will invest US$500 million to further expand the IR, adding convention facilities. ● Suncity’s VIP club at Starworld has been quality certified by SGS SA, a Swiss testing lab, and named SGS’s “first seven-star casino VIP club’ in the world.” StarWorld casino hotel in Macau s operated by Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. ● The Macau government may delay the deadline to implement a proposed new cybersecurity law from 30 to 180 days. The majority of MSAR residents deemed the 30-day period too low to implement complex new security systems.
