Las Vegas-based bookmaker Circa Sports was recommended for licensure by the Nevada Gaming Control Board for its takeover of the race and sportsbook inside of the Silverton Casino, which, if approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission later this month, would go live on January 1. According to the company, a temporary book will open first, while the existing space is being renovated—the new, permanent location is slated to open in the spring, in time for NCAA March Madness. In addition to its Nevada operations, Circa is also live in Colorado, Iowa and Illinois, and is set to launch in Kentucky in the near future. • The Teamsters Local 251 union has reached a new five-year contract with Bally’s Twin River Casino in Rhode Island, covering approximately 35 non-gaming employees. The new deal, which replaces the old agreement that expired in June, includes wage increases, healthcare coverage and pension benefits. • Chamonix Casino Hotel, located in Cripple Creek, Colorado, recently announced that hotel reservations are now open for the 300-room hotel. Both the casino and hotel are scheduled to open to the public on December 26, 2023. • New Mexico welcomed BetMGM to its first retail sportsbook at Isleta Resort & Casino . The entrance marked the 28th market BetMGM set up stakes. The retail sportsbook contains 35 television screens and two VIP sections in a 4,900-square-foot space. The sportsbook also includes five betting windows and four betting kiosks. “It’s a privilege to enter New Mexico and collaborate with Isleta Resort & Casino,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt in a statement about the Albuquerque, New Mexico resort.
