Wynn Resorts’ new Wynn Solar Facility is up and running. The 160-acre, 20-megawatt station, located in Fallon, Nevada, about 375 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, reportedly provided more than 80 percent of the daytime power demand at the company’s Strip resorts, Wynn Las Vegas and Encore • Fourteen former hair stylists and nail technicians at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ Violet Hour salon are suing the Strip resort’s parent company, claiming it failed to provide adequate ventilation at the venue, exposing workers to health risks from a variety of toxic chemicals. • Nevada Restaurant Services, owner of the Dotty’s casino chain, has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle a disability discrimination suit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The suit claimed the slot operator illegally fired or forced employees in Nevada and Montana to quit because they were considered disabled or had a record of disability. The company also has agreed to conduct new Americans with Disabilities Act training and submit regular reports to the government verifying compliance. • Sands China Ltd.’s ninth Because We Care Team Member Awards were held May 31 at the Venetian Theatre. More than 400 employees won gold, silver and bronze awards for exemplary service at the ceremony. ● Macau-based electronic gaming equipment supplier Asia Pioneer Entertainment has launched a paid joint internship program with Macau Polytechnic Institute. The program will introduce students to career opportunities in gaming equipment and equipment management.
