New attractions coming to New York’s Yellow Brick Road Casino include an indoor golf range, six-lane bowling center and games such as pool, shuffleboard, baseball pitching, soccer, hockey and “Zombie Dodgeball.” The additions are part of a $10 million upgrade slated for completion in February at the Oneida Indian Nation resort, which also is getting a new casino bar, new F&B outlets and a remodeled exterior. • Owners of the Emerald Island Casino in Henderson, Nevada, have purchased Henderson’s Rainbow Club & Casino from Peppermill Casinos. The Rainbow features 330 machine games, a bar and a restaurant. • The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has opened a gambling addiction and substance abuse treatment center in Las Vegas. The 20-bed facility, the VA’s second of its kind nationwide, provides 30- and 45-day in-patient programs designed around a “whole health approach” for achieving emotional, physical and mental recovery. • Nagasaki Prefecture is moving to upgrade its maritime transportation to and from Nagasaki Airport as part of its effort to boost its bid for one of Japan’s first three integrated resorts. Transportation and access has been regarded as one of the main weak points in Nagasaki’s IR bid. • GVC Holdings has moved all Italian divisions to a new Rome office, which will house staff of its Eurobet, bwin and Gioco Digitale Italia properties. GVC’ Rome office relocation forms part of its final post-Ladbrokes Coral merger plans, driving operational and co-synergy efficiencies across an enlarged group. • A former baccarat dealer at MGM National Harbor has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a plot to cheat the house out of more than $1 million. Ming Zhang of Alexandria, Virginia, received three years of supervised release after his prison term and ordered to pay full restitution. • Popular DJ Kaskade has filed a federal lawsuit against the Palms Hotel Casino over the sudden closure of KAOS Nightclub last month, alleging breach of contract. Attorneys for Kaskade aka Ryan Raddon, argue the DJ signed a two-year contract to perform 30 concerts in both 2019 and 2020, but those performances were abruptly canceled when the club closed. Kaskade is seeking unspecified damages from Red Rock Resorts, which owns the Palms. • Radisson Rewards members can now redeem points when booking stays at Treasure Island in Las Vegas. TI is the first Strip property to join the Minnesota-based hotel brand’s portfolio. Room renovations at the 3,000-room resort owned by Phil Ruffin are under way and expected to be complete next year. • Casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd. says an “enhanced gaming space” at its Wynn Macau property opened for business last month. It features 44 mass-market table games and a refurbished high-limit slot area, according to the company. The revamp of Wynn Macau is targeted at premium mass customers, cash-based players betting in high multiples. • The Hotel Okura at Resorts World Manila in the Philippine capital will open at the end of first-quarter 2020. The hotel is part of an expansion of the resort called the Grand Wing, which already includes a Hilton and Sheraton. It will bring the total room count at the complex to approximately 3,500. • Marathonbet has announced its second major football partnership as the Panserve Ltd. online sportsbook subsidiary expands its sponsorship agreement with Premier League champions Manchester City in the UK. Marathonbet has served as Global Betting Partner of Manchester City since June 2018. • The PokerStars brand of online poker games and land-based tournaments will hold its first-ever event in Taipei, Taiwan, in early 2020.
