On September 26, Melco Resorts & Entertainment launched its 20-vehicle fleet of electric buses in Macau. A kickoff ceremony was held at Studio City in the Cotai district with manufacturer Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Company Ltd. The buses will travel to and from Melco’s Studio City, Altira Macau and City of Dreams resorts. ● All casinos in the Indian state of Goa closed for 24 hours on October 2 to celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the “father of the nation.” Goa currently has six offshore casinos and 12 land-based casinos located inside five-star hotels. ● Melco Resorts’ C2 casino, a temporary gaming hall in Limassol, Cyprus, has received some 175,000 visitors since it opened on June 28. The permanent resort, to be known as City of Dreams Mediterranean, broke ground on June 8 and is set to open in 2021. ● Authentic Gaming has rolled out its services in Italy for the first time, hailing the move as a “very important” part of its ongoing growth strategy. The live casino supplier will work with LeoVegas.it and Eurobet in the country, with customers of each operator to gain access to live table games streamed from casinos around the world. The Authentic Roulette platform includes streams from the Platinum Casino in Bucharest, Romania, as well as the Royal Casino in Denmark and soon the Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City in London. • The last of the old style gaming circles in Paris has closed its doors, with the shuttering of the Circle Clichy-Montmartre by the central service of racing and games (SCCJ) on September 26. It follows a suspension from the Advisory Committee on Gaming on September 6 and a police raid in July which led to the indictment of six officials for “organized money laundering, concealed work and breach of trust.” Aviation Club de France, Wagram, Concorde and the English club were all closed in February 2017. • Late-night TV talk show host Jimmy Kimmel plans to open a comedy club next spring at Caesars Entertainment’s Linq Promenade on the Las Vegas Strip. The 8,000-square-foot venue will have an expandable showroom and seating for up to 300. The club will be open seven nights a week, with a bar open daily and shows offered nightly.
