Nisqually Tribe Opens Red Wind Garage

A new 600-vehicle parking garage will open this week at the Nisqually Tribe's Red Wind Casino in Olympia, Washington. It's part of an expansion plan that will double the casino to 95,000 square feet, raise gaming machines to 975, increase the smoke-free environment and renovate three restaurants—plus crate 70 new jobs.

A grand opening ceremony will be held Wednesday, November 5 at the Nisqually Red Wind Casino in Olympia, Washington for the facility’s new 600-space parking garage.

The garage is part of an overall expansion plan that began at the property in November 2013. The project will double the size of the casino to 95,000 square feet, increase the number of gaming machines to 975, expand the casino’s smoke-free environment and upgrade three restaurants. The expansion will create 70 new jobs, for a total of more than 630 tribal and nontribal positions.

Tribal Council Chairwoman Cynthia Iyall said, “The tribe is pleased to be a strong economic engine for not only our own Nisqually people, but also our surrounding community and partners.”

Also in Washington, the Snoqualmie Casino near Seattle will celebrates its sixth anniversary November 3-6 with drawings for prizes including six new Ford automobiles and cash totaling $275,000.

Jon Jenkins, chief executive officer and president of Snoqualmie Casino, said, “Our anniversary is one of our favorite times of the year. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate with our guests, employees and local community.”

One of the largest employers in the area Snoqualmie Valley area, the casino employs more than 1,200 people.
