Nominations Sought for Great Women of Gaming

The Global Gaming Women organization is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Great Women of Gaming Awards recognizing achievements by women in gaming.

Global Gaming Women, the nonprofit dedicated to furthering the goals of women in the gaming industry, announced that it is accepting nominations for the 208 Great Women of Gaming Awards.

Originally introduced in 2004 by Casino Enterprise Management magazine, the Great Women in Gaming Awards were designed to recognize and encourage outstanding achievements by women in the gaming industry. Proven Leaders and Rising Stars were recognized annually until 2012, when CEM founder Peter Mead passed away.

In 2016, Global Gaming Women acquired the Awards from CEM and, in keeping with the mission of Global Gaming Women, have updated the award categories to broaden awareness, strengthen prestige and celebrate the success of women in the worldwide gaming industry. Nomination forms can be accessed the globalgamingwomen.org website for each category. Global Gaming Business magazine has committed to publicizing the GWG event when it is held later in 2018.

The categories for 2018 are as follows:

Rising Star: Minimum of three years in a gaming related field. The Rising Star award is designed to recognize the talent and determination of tomorrow’s leaders in gaming. Candidates have demonstrated the ability for self-growth and the ability to help others grow. Candidates have gone above and beyond their job category to stand out as a leader.

Game Changer: Minimum of five years in gaming related field. The Game Changer is a pioneer in gaming. She has blazed a new trail, challenged the status quo, or demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit. The Game Changer may have started a new business, changed the way business is done, or created a whole new category.

Service Star: Minimum of five years in a gaming related field. The Service Star is the champion of a customer service culture. She creates a customer experience that stands apart within the Industry, ensuring that service is interwoven into the fabric of the team she works with or the greater organization. Some examples of areas of work are housekeeping, cage, tables, in manufacturing production, order fulfillment, paralegal, and program management. This woman understands the relationship between internal and external customer satisfaction.

Leadership: Minimum of seven years in a gaming related field. Vice president or above. This candidate has established herself as a leader and role model. She has a proven track record and a high level of achievement, serving as a role model to other women in the gaming industry. She has achieved success in her business and has guided others as a mentor or sponsor to achieve what they might not have thought possible.

Lifetime Achievement: Ten or more years in a gaming related field. Vice President or above. This proven Industry leader has established a legacy of success within the gaming industry. This candidate has set herself apart by making a significant, long term contribution to the Industry, organizations in the industry, and those around her. This leader is recognized for her passion, persistency and her positive impact. She has demonstrated a vision that has led to outstanding achievements.
