Norwegian state-owned gaming operator Norsk Tipping has opened a tender process to select a sports betting provider. The operator plans to have the system in place before the Euro 2020 football tournament.
According to iGamingbusiness.com, the three-pronged contract includes a sports betting solution, a data-feed service and a streaming solution. The contract would begin in October, run until 2025 and include an option for three 24-month extensions.
Norsk Tipping sports betting is currently provided by Scientific Games, with pool betting under the Tipping brand; in-play wagering through Liveoddsen; fixed-odds betting offered by Langoddsen, and a predictions-based game called Oddsbomben.
Bidders have until May 3 to submit proposals.
Norsk Tipping first moved online through a 2014 agreement with GTech, now IGT. In 2018 it made an online bingo deal with IGT; an instant-win games deal with Novomatic Lottery Solutions; and signed a contract with Scientific Games to provide online casino games and instant-win titles.
In an effort to combat problem gambling, the company also announced a new spending limit of $2,360 in winnings a month. The new measure will lock players out automatically, reported TunfNews.com.
