North Carolina attracted nine applicants to participate in sports betting in the state. Of those nine, eight expect to be functioning when sports betting launches March 11.

North Carolina Expects Eight Sportsbooks by March 11 Debut

As it stands, North Carolina sports betting goes live March 11, enough time to capture most of the NCAA men and women’s tournaments, known better as March Madness.

Nine sportsbook operators applied to provide sports betting services, with eight likely to be awarded licenses prior to March 1, when new users can be registered, according to the North Carolina Sports Betting Committee.

Here are the licensees and their market partners:

  • bet365 NC: Charlotte Hornets
  • BetMGM NC: Charlotte Motor Speedway
  • DraftKings NC: NASCAR
  • Fanatics Betting and Gaming: Carolina Hurricanes
  • FanDuel NC: PGA Tour
  • PENN Sports Interactive (ESPN BET NC): Quail Hollow Club (PGA Tour course)
  • Tribal Casino Gaming Enterprise Cherokee: Caesars Sportsbook NC
  • Underdog Sports: McConnell Golf

Applicants must acquire certificates of compliance, expected to be issued before March 1.

Catawba Two Kings Casino may not be ready to go with a partner by March 11.

The committee also sanctioned a voluntary sports betting exclusion list for a predetermined length of time or a permanent ban.

The following companies have been granted supplier licenses for integrity services, data, and content within North Carolina:

  • SportContentCo, LLC
  • SIS Content Services, Inc.
  • Swish Analytics North Carolina, Inc.
  • Idology, Inc.
  • LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL, Inc.
  • International Betting Integrity Association
  • FEMG Co.

Two other licenses are pending.
