North Dakota Begins $1.6 Million Overhaul

Four Bears Casino near New Town, North Dakota, is adding a new 4,000-seat event center, and will also renovate its casino floor.

The Four Bears Casino near New Town, North Dakota, is planning a major renovation that includes a new event center, reports the Bismarck Tribune. General Manager Patrick Packineau said the casino has outgrown its 2,300-seat event center, which was built in 2000. The new multipurpose event center will seat 4,000. The added capacity will allow it to diversify its event calendar to add powwows, motorsports, sport and RV shows, as well as more concerts.

In April, Four Bears also will make over the casino floor, adding new carpet and flooring, a new ceiling, renovated bathrooms, new signs and a center bar.

“It’s going to look a lot different,” Packineau said. “It’ll be something really exciting for people to come and see.”

The casino floor renovation is expected to cost $1.6 million, he said. Construction should be finished in 2015.
