John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada is undergoing a million renovation. Among the enhancements will be a western-themed Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que, scheduled to open in June, and a new sports bar, deli and VIP lounge with slots to be completed by August.

In addition, a new sports book, bingo area and casino gambling pit also will be completed this year as part of the overall plan, said Carlton Greer, chief executive officer. Greer added the new ownership, affiliates of Global Gaming & Hospitality and Husky Finance, consider the Nugget’s traditions as a “cornerstone of entertainment” in the community.
