Norway Lottery Names Havnelid Chief Executive

The national lottery of Norway, Norsk Tipping, announced Åsne Havnelid will become chief executive officer this fall. Since 2011, Havnelid has served as secretary general of the Norwegian Red Cross, and also was chief executive officer at the 2011 Nordic Ski World Championship and deputy head of Olympiatoppen.

The board of directors of Norsk Tipping, the national lottery of Norway, recently announced Åsne Havnelid will take over as its chief executive officer, replacing Torbjørn Almlid, this fall. Havnelid has served as secretary general of the Norwegian Red Cross, which is substantially funded by Norsk Tipping, since 2011.

Havnelid also has held several leading positions in Norwegian sports and businesses, including chief executive officer at the Nordic Ski World Championship in 2011; deputy head of Olympiatoppen; and executive positions within Scandinavian Airlines.
