Norwegian poker player Espen Jorstad walked away with the 2022 No-limit World Series of Poker World Championship after beating his last opponent, Adrian Attenborough. He took home $10 million as part of the first place prize.
The $10,000 buy-in tournament had a record 8,663 entrants. Jorstad was the first player from Norway to win the Main Event.
Attenborough, a Las Vegas resident, won $6 million for coming in second.
Their head-to-head match lasted 19 hands and 90 minutes.
Jorstad says he plans to play in more high-roller events and plans to use some of his winnings to invest in cryptocurrency and tech stocks.
He commented, “I don’t know what to do now. I’m kind of homeless and trying to figure life out. I’ll go somewhere or maybe take a little break.”
