Novomatic has completed the acquisition of the Vikings Casinos Group, which runs more than 10 casinos across France.
Austrian group Novomatic said the deal strengthens its presence in one of Europe’s most important gaming markets and underscores its long-term focus on sustainable growth and international diversification.
The acquisition has been finalized after being approved by all relevant licensing and regulatory authorities.
Founded in Falaise in 1998, Vikings Casinos is one of France’s leading casino operators with over 300 employees. It currently operates around 1,000 gaming terminals at its facilities, including locations on the Côte d’Azur.
“The acquisition of Vikings Casinos is a significant step on our path to systematically expanding Novomatic’s international market presence,” said Stefan Krenn, chief executive of Novomatic.
Novomatic Eyes French Expansion
Novomatic has locations in more than 50 countries and exports gaming equipment, system solutions, lottery system solutions and services to around 130 countries.
The group said that receiving the approval of the French authorities illustrates its expertise and high standards of compliance. Novomatic said it also opens up new perspectives for the further development of its French casino business.
Krenn added: “France is one of the most dynamic and demanding gaming markets in Europe. With this investment, we are not only strengthening our leading position in Europe but are also sending a clear signal for our long-term expansion strategy on a global level.”
