Novomatic Joins WLA

Austria’s Novomatic Group was accepted as a Gold Contributor of the World Lottery Association, the third world lottery association to which it now belongs.

Austrian slot supplier and gaming operator Novomatic Group has joined the World Lottery Association as a Gold Member, bringing the number of major lottery organizations of which the company is a member to three. The company also belongs to European Lotteries and the Corporación Iberoamericana De Loterías Y Apuestas De Estado (CIBELAE).

As one of the most recent members, Novomatic has been recognized as a Gold Contributor. “With this, the group proves not only that it is one of the industry’s leading international players, but also shows that it complies with the WLA’s high standards regarding corporate and social responsibility,” said a company statement.

The European Lotteries, an umbrella organization for national lotteries, has also rewarded Novomatic with a status as Associate Member. The CIBELAE, an association of lotteries in Latin America, has accepted Novomatic as a STAR Provider.

“Being received as a member of these three important associations honors us and shows that our commitment to continued innovation and social responsibility pays off,” said Novomatic CEO Franz Wohlfahrt. “As an integrated gaming group, we are both an operator and a producer of high-quality gaming devices and services. The lottery offering will perfectly complement our already comprehensive portfolio.”

“In acquiring Novomatic as a Gold Contributor, the WLA has gained a partner that is one of the largest integrated gaming companies in the world,” said WLA President Jean-Luc Monet-Banet.

“Novomatic’s November 2013 acquisition of Betware, the former WLA Gold Contributor and longtime leader in online gaming solutions for the lottery market, emphasizes Novomatic’s eagerness to work with the world lottery community in its effort to gain revenue for good causes. We are proud to welcome Novomatic as a WLA member, and to count them among our Gold Contributors.”
