NY Chooses Siting Board Chief

The president of the Long Island Association has been named to head up the New York Gaming Facility Location Board. The siting board is in charge of awarding four Class III casino licenses this fall; 17 development partnerships have submitted bids.

Kevin Law, president of the Long Island Association, will serve as chairman of the New York Gaming Facility Location Board, which will review bids for up to four upstate casino licenses, the Albany Times-Union reported. Law was appointed by the state Gaming Commission.

Law is one of five panelists reviewing 17 bids for projects ranging from $90 million to more than $1 billion in value. Others on the panel include former New York City Comptroller William Thompson; former state Budget Director Paul Francis; Hofstra University President Stuart Rabinowitz; and retired New York City attorney Dennis E. Glazer.
