Ohio Casino Holds Hotel Groundbreaking

Penn Entertainment recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new $100 million hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus in Ohio. The 180-room hotel, expected to open in 2025, will feature meeting rooms, a restaurant, fitness center, outdoor terrace and other amenities to be announced. Officials said the facility will create 400 construction jobs and 100 permanent jobs.

Penn Entertainment Chief Executive Officer and President Jay Snowden said, “We are thrilled to soon begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus. Since opening in 2012, our Columbus property has experienced tremendous growth, and the addition of a hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus will create a true regional destination.”

Hollywood Casino Columbus Vice President and General Manager Rick Skinner added, “We are elated to be celebrating this day with our team members, supporters, and key stakeholders. It’s exhilarating. The reinvestment back into the community, $100 million back into Columbus.

“We can’t wait to begin hiring new team members and welcoming more visitors from around the region to showcase our new hotel and the excitement of Hollywood Casino Columbus.”

Opened in 2009, the 160,000-square-foot Hollywood Casino Columbus offers 1,700 slot machines, 70 table games, sportsbook and Central Ohio’s largest poker room, plus more than 16,000 square feet of banquet and event space. Restaurants include the Lounge at Final Cut Steak & Seafood, Mikey’s LateNight Slice, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace, Zen Noodle, Wahlburgers and Sportsbook Restaurant. Hollywood Casino Columbus also offers more than 16,000 square feet of multi-purpose banquet and event space.
