Ohio Casino Revenues Stay Flat

Despite some big declines in revenue by the Hollywood Casino Toledo (l.), the state’s four casinos overall maintained roughly the same profits this year that they enjoyed last year at this time.

Most Ohio casino revenues declined in September, according to figures released by the Ohio Casino Control Commission.

The Hollywood Casino Toledo’s revenues declined by 7 percent for the month to $14.7 million. Only the Jack Cleveland Casino’s revenues were up, among all four of the state’s casinos. Its revenues increased by 8 percent over the previous year, to $17.1 million.

Despite this decline, the Toledo casino’s revenues so far in 2016 were still beating the first nine months of 2015, $146.8 million compared to $146 million last year.

Revenues declined less than 1 percent for the aggregate of all four casinos for the first three quarters of the year, taking in $606.9 million so far. This figure only includes money directly from gaming, and does not include food and beverage sales or merchandise.
