Ohio Introduces Lottery Cards

Ohio has just introduced Lottery Cards. The cards enable play on mobile platforms and smartphones. Some aren’t happy with the development.

The Ohio Lottery has debuted a new Lottery Card by Linq3 and the Blackhawk Network. The mobile-enabled lottery card is available in grocery and retail locations.

Ohio is one of the first states to offer the Lottery Card, a digital option that allows play from mobile devices. Cards can be given as gifts and purchased for $10 for five plays.

Players scratch off a section of the card to reveal a code, which they enter on their platform or Smartphone.

They offer “convenience and a great user experience” says Linq3 Chairman and CEO Tom Spiegel. “It’s a product designed to fit with consumers’ increasingly busy and digital lifestyles.”

It’s also too easy to use says, making it very convenient to play Powerball or Mega Millions nonstop. This concerns Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services spokesman Paula Cosby, who told WHIO-TV “Gambling is an addiction very similar to drug addiction, so having increased availability is going to be easier to gamble and it will cause some additional challenges for the community.”
