The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma announced the name of its newest casino resort in Hochatown, Oklahoma: Choctaw Landing. A groundbreaking will take place there June 14.
Senior Executive Officer for Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Janie Dillard said, “We are excited to get started on bringing to life what promises to be an amazing entertainment destination for Oklahomans and our friends and neighbors in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. In addition to the gaming, hotel and entertainment amenities, we plan to offer our guests an opportunity to learn more about our history, our culture and what it means to be Choctaw.”
The venue will open in late 2023, officials said.
The $165 million, 200,000 square-foot Choctaw Landing casino will offer 600 slots and eight table games. The property also will feature a 4-story, 100-room hotel, several restaurants and bars, swimming pool, outdoor amphitheater, beer garden and family-friendly game zone.
Adjoining Choctaw Landing will be a 12,000 square foot mercantile with a small grocery store/market, three dining options and a fuel station with 24 pumps. The project will create more than 2,000 new jobs and have an economic impact of more than $211 million.
Officials said the design of the mercantile and the resort will reflect the tribe’s culture. The facility will showcase historical information about the tribe and feature Choctaw art created by tribal members. Many Choctaw still live in the area of Hochatown, the site of a historical Choctaw village.
