Second hotel to be complete in 2020
Resort operator Travellers International Hotel Group has announced plans to bring an Okura-branded hotel to Resorts World Manila in the Philippines.
The planned 191-room hotel, to be constructed inside the Resorts World casino complex, is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to TIGHI and the Japanese hotelier.
The companies have also agreed to partner on a 13-story hotel with 380 rooms in Bayshore City Resorts World, an integrated resort located at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.’s Entertainment City in Pasay City, reported the Philippine Inquirer. That hotel is expected to be completed in 2020.
The developments are a response to the growing number of tourists visiting the Philippines from abroad, the newspaper reported. Data show that the number of foreign visitors grew an average of 10 percent annually in recent years. In 2016, the number of foreign tourists in the country was at 5.9 million.
