OLG to Bid Out Canadian Casino Ops

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) will accept bids from operators to take day-to-day control of Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino. The resort is now run by Caesars Entertainment Windsor Ltd., which will extend its existing contract to mid-2023.

“Launching a competitive procurement to select a long-term service provider for the Windsor Gaming Bundle will complete OLG’s modernization of the Ontario gaming marketplace,” said Stephen Rigby, OLG president and CEO. “It will also help protect the long-term competitiveness of the Windsor market.”

OLG officials said they will take that time to conduct a fair and competitive procurement process for the Windsor Gaming Bundle; any new operator must retain employees for at least 12 months.

OLG expects to release a Request for Pre-Qualification for the Windsor Gaming Bundle by fall 2020.
