Oneida Casino Construction Starting Soon

The Oneida Nation's second casino in Madison County, New York will break ground next month and open in spring 2018. The $40 million, 65,000 square foot facility will create 250 construction and 200 permanent jobs, with 500 slots and 20 table games, plus two casual restaurants, a chocolatier and two bars.

Construction of the Oneida Indian Nation’s million, 65,000 square foot Point Place Casino will begin in July in Bridgeport, Madison County, New York, and be completed in spring 2018. The tribe also opened the Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango in Madison County in June 2015. Oneida Nation Public Relations Manager Kelly Abdo said, “The design and architecture work is going well, and we’ll begin the foundation and steel work in July. We’re very pleased.”

The project will create 250 construction jobs and 200 permanent jobs. “The specific positions aren’t posted yet, but there will be a range of gaming positions including table game dealers and slot attendants,” Abdo said.

The casino will offer 500 slot machines and 20 table games, plus dining options including Wicked Good Pizza and Burgers of Madison County, chocolatier Opals Confectionary and two bars.

Oneida Nation representative and Nation Enterprises Ray Halbritter said, “We are thrilled to announce this new investment in Central New York, and are confident it will continue the success we have had in working hand-in-hand with the local community to create good jobs and generate public revenues. Over the last few decades, we have worked hard to build a well-planned economic model that has sustained and invigorated the local economy and our expansion projects have almost always exceeded expectations. In the coming months, we are looking forward to working with the community to launch this latest project and build off that success.”
