Oneidas Turn to Vegas for Sports Book Director

The New York tribe has hired Justin Arnett to manage the sports betting operations coming to its three upstate casinos. Arnett most recently ran the Venetian and Palazzo books on the Las Vegas Strip. His experience also includes stints at the Cosmopolitan, Hard Rock, M Resort and the Gold Coast.

The Oneida Indian Nation has hired veteran Las Vegas oddsmaker Justin Arnett to head the sports books set to open at the tribe’s three New York state casinos.

Arnett, who most recently managed daily operations at the sports books at Las Vegas Sands’ Venetian and Palazzo resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, will serve in the same capacity at the Oneidas’ flagship Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona and its Point Place and Yellow Brick Road casinos in Bridgeport and Chittenango.

Plans call for the Turning Stone and Point Place books to open this summer and the Yellow Brick Road later this year, all in conjunction with a partnership the Oneidas announced earlier this year with Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment.

The tribe is reported to be looking to fill more than 60 positions in sports betting at the three properties.

Prior to joining Las Vegas Sands, Arnett worked in sports betting at M Resort and The Cosmopolitan on the Las Vegas Strip and off-Strip at the Hard Rock and Gold Coast casinos.
