The $31 million Cascades Casino in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, after abandoning a 2020 opening due to the Covid pandemic, is now looking at opening early next year.
Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Ltd. broke ground on the casino in 2019, only to stop work in 2020. Construction resumed in April of 2021.
Gateway director of communications and public affairs, commented December 5, “It’s on schedule and we’re quite focused and pleased with the progress we’ve made.” He added that an official opening date would be announced soon. “We believe strongly that North Bay will be a great market for us.”
The casino is hosting a virtual job fair from December –15. Jobs available range from shift managers to card dealers, cooks, bartenders and kitchen staff. The casino will have about 300 employees.
