Ontario has gotten single event betting after years of misfires. The first bet occurred at 5:03 a.m. on September 3, according to The Toronto Star.
“Ten dollars on the over-under (9.5 runs) for Brewers-Twins,” said David Pridmore, chief digital and strategy officer of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
ProLine+ took in more than $1 million in bets from the 10 sports it is offering on its website and mobile app. Baseball, football and soccer, comprised more than 80 percent of the action. In-game betting attracted some 40 percent during the first five days.
“We have no intention of standing still, (but) we wanted to launch a new digital product that captured as many major sports as possible at launch,” Pridmore said.
ProLine+ is the only regulated option for Ontario sports bettors but BetMGM, PointsBet, FanDuel, DraftKings and Penn National among others expect to apply for a license.
