Ontario Online Site to Allow Deposits Up to $10,000

Ontario’s lottery and gaming agency has set a limit of $9,999 a week for deposits into player’s accounts on its new online gambling site.

Players on Ontario’s new PlayOLG site from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Agency will allow deposits of up to ,999 into player’s accounts.

The site is undergoing testing with selected users and is expected to launch in January.

Players will be able to deposit through bank accounts, Visa or MasterCard, officials said.

“We are entering a competitive marketplace,” Paul Pellizzari of OLG’s social responsibility office told reporters at a press conference. “We have to offer options.”

The agency expects the site to eventually take in as much as $100 million a year—money that is currently going to unregulated online gambling sites.
