Oracle Founder Buys Hyatt in Lake Tahoe

Larry Ellison, the founder of Oracle, has purchased the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Lake Tahoe’s Incline Village, just the sort of resort that he and fellow billionaires like to frequent. In fact, Incline Village is occasionally called “Billionaires row.”

The reported purchase price was $345 million, which was made with Ellison’s Lawrence Investments LLC.

The company also bought the 16 acres the Hyatt sits on. The Hyatt Regency is 12 stories with 422 rooms, 50,000 square feet of event space, a heated outdoor pool and spa/salon.

The price is reportedly a record high for Lake Tahoe, although not out of the range for California hotels.
