The Oregon Lottery in November took in $17.1 million in wagers on its sports betting app, Scoreboard, the first full month of legal online wagering in the state.
SBTech, which operates the sportsbook for the state, processed 720,084 wagers, which averaged $23.76. This generated $960,714 in revenue for the lottery.
Basketball was the most popular sport to bet on, about 50.3 percent, with football at 35.2 percent. However bets were also placed on volleyball, snooker, pool, handball and even Australian rules football.
During the first month of Scoreboard, 9,393 persons registered for an account, with 17,008 unique players.
The lottery has estimated that its revenue from the activity will be $141.2 million for the first three years with a total anticipated handle of $1.6 billion.
Currently only mobile sportsbook is offered but that will change in January when the lottery will start to deploy retail kiosks around the state.
