The Osage Nation recently held a groundbreaking for a 0 million expansion at its 10-year-old Osage Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Osage Casino Chief Executive Officer Byron Bighorse said, “The money that we create funds services for the tribe, so it’s very personal to me. I spend it as if it is my own money.”
Phase one of the expansion will include a hotel, entertainment space and additional games, Bighorse said. He added Osage Casino is working with a Texas company on a brewery concept for the property.
Future plans also include a retail and entertainment complex and a golf course. The expansion includes a total of four phases at a cost of $500 million. In total, there are four phases to the project, and once completed, it is expected to top a $500 million price tag. “We are in a highly competitive market, so we need to offer a product that is comparable to our competition. That way we get visits. We all share the same people. It is a local’s market,” Bighorse said.
The tribe operates six casinos in Osage County.
