Osage Casino in Tulsa recently sponsored the XPO Game Festival at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Now in its second year, the event attracted thousands of gamers, fans, developers and game industry leaders. The three-day event featured an expanded lineup of attractions and entertainment, including an expo floor, panels and speakers, a first look at new gaming technology, panel discussions and opportunities to play new games ahead of the public. Game developer Chris Avellone was the keynote speaker.
XPO Event Manager Matt Stockman said, “We’re excited to have Osage Casino on board as a presenting sponsor for our eSports tournaments. We’ve been working hard to create a bigger and better experience for our attendees, and our lineup of entertainment and attractions is proof of this. Every facet of game culture will have a spotlight at XPO.”
The festival also featured several eSports tournaments. Oklahoma eSports managed tournaments for League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Rocket League and Halo 5.A prize pool of $10,000 for the League of Legends tournament was distributed along with prize money for all of the competitions. Dragonslayer Games and Game Over Entertainment managed console fighting game tournaments for Super Smash Bros. 4 and Capcom vs. Marvel: Infinite.
XPO 2017 also offered concerts, giveaways, a retro lounge arcade, tabletop play, laser tag, VR showcase, indie alley, musical acts and professional cosplayers.
